So you want to remove a role from a Windows 2012 server, easy right. Not so easy.
You cannot remove the VPN access role until you have been into the VPN console and removed the configuration. Really !!!!
Why not just delete the configuration when you uninstall the role. Thinks are supposed to be made easier not harder.

Now I have noticed this before but installing a new machine I kept setting the update to hidden as I don’t want Silverlight on this machine.

Turns out to be quite easy
1. Load the tools cd in the usual way.
2. Change to the d: drive
3. Run setup64.exe
Setup will run just fine, a quick reboot and we are good to go.

This Metro stuff can get messy, and this is Microsofts flagship mail application. Note the email overlay input has slipped and the right hand text and user icon are clipped.
