Hi Tom

It was of the directory name, apparently it should be the same as your app id i.e. com.depicus.appname but I was using depicus.

I appealed which took about a week and they said it was ok, went with the already had an app that used it pre App store.

Did you ever find out why you were rejected? Was it because of read/write access or just the directory name you were writing to?

Thanks

Any port will do but go for 4343 as chances are that will not be used by anything. Also you only need UDP forwarding.

Now for forwarding make sure you use the "Subnet Directed Broadcast" address otherwise you may have problems.

To work out your SDB address it's easy, if your ip was 192.168.1.6 and subnet of 255.255.255.0 then it would be 192.168.1.255

Thanks for the quick response. Last man on earth w/o a twitter account so keeping dialog here for now...

Trying to make happen over internet. I'll try to set up port forwarding on my router (I can't change anything on the Time Warner cable modem as far as I know) and see if that helps. Can I assume any port can be used for this purpose?

Do you want to wake on the lan or over the internet. Different rules apply and much as I love the sales I would rather check and you be happy before you buy.

If your using just on the local network then the web might not work dependant on setup but the app should.

If you are using over the internet the web site should work but you need to set up port forwarding on the cable modem.

Hope that helps and feel free to ask here on catch me on twitter @depicus

Hi -- Excited to see this app and will be my first Mac App store purchase...if I think it might work...

I tried your web page to wake my macbook but didn't work. Should I assume the same approach is used so this app also won't work for me?

Not sure why I am having trouble. Turned firewall off to test. Mac is enabled for "wake on network access" and nothing special about my set up (cable modem to airport extreme to mac). Any suggestions? I'll buy the app the minute I see it will work on your site.

Hi

No you only need it on the "from" machine, however even if you did need it on the other machine the app store licence allows you to run on as many personal macs as you own so if you had 100 you could run on all of them.

We are all very new to the Mac App Store and at the moment I do support via this blog or on twitter @depicus.

Hope that helps.
